CLEANING air filters

Default CLEANING air filters

HI GUYS,
can i clean my ac filter and engine air filters in water and detergent.. what will happen if i do that?!! will it really do the job of cleaning.. wats the worst case senario...
.... or is it the stupidest idea ever?!

Just get a new one, Unless it is a reusable filter like K&N or foam. Washing a paper element just doesn’t work!

You can't wash the pollen filter. You can replace your stock filter with a reusable filter and (obviously) clean that.

It's paper! It will degrade, especially in detergent.
Why waste your time on that anyway. It's a cheap replacement. You can get them for about $10 on ebay. There are a couple of dealers on ebay who are regularly selling them. Just search for "Audi pollen filter".
