Default coolant temperature sensor location

Hello, could anyone tell me where the coolant temperature sensor is located on an AUDI cabriolet 1995 V6 2.8? Also is this a 4-wire or 2 wire
How difficult is it to replace?
Thanks

There are three items thathave similar names. The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor G-62 is located in the large coolant pipe that runs across the back of the engine, on the drivers side. This sensorsends input to the fuel system. The Electronic Engine Coolant Temperature Switch, F-76,is also located in the same pipe, passenger's side, and sends info to the temp gage in the instrument cluster. The Coolant Fan Thermo Switch F-18/F54 is located in the radiator above the right lower hose, and controls the fans.Which one are you referring to?

Hi, been away for a while. Thanks for the reply. I am referring to the green 4-pin temperature sender. How canI at least get to it.(for example, by following a hose, etc)Can I see it by looking behind the engine?
Thanks

How do you know it is green and has 4 pins if you haven't seen it? We need more information about what isn't working correctly and some symptoms to help you,

The sender is right where the number 13 in the first atachment of the avant80@2.6
its covered by a rubber boot, its simple to replace it, on cold engine take off the air hose that runs from the filter box to the throatle, then you sill see it sticking out with wires. take the rubber off a bit to expose, unplug it, then there should be like a C clip, make sure the new sensor is by the hand, pull the C clip, then in one hand get ready to pull it out, and in the other hand have the new sensor, pull the old one out, and immidiatly put the new one in. Luckely when you pulled the old one out the rubber O ring left with it. then put the C clip back, and other stuff, enjoy, hopfully you did not lose too much coolant.

The 4 wire sensor sends the temperature to the guage and to the ECU. they made 2 in 1 sensor.

enjoy.

This is the Bentley's diagram for the '94-'98 Cabriolet. Karkarot, are you saying that #7 - ETC thermalswitch F-76,has been replaced by a combined switch at the G62 location? That's not how I read this diagram unless it has been superceded by a bulletin or something (or Bentleys goofed up and it doesn't exist). That said, I cannot visually confirm that F-76 exists on my '95 Cab without pulling the throttle body off and looking for it. The coolant pipe is surrounded by too many components.

on my car its there, where number 3 is, there are no other sensors on mine, I could be wrong. I took my stuff apart, all the way to throatle body, I only seen the number 3.

I still dont know what the problem is though?
