dear lord what have i done...
Dog,
Though it may be too late now, I have been told you can buy the ball joint boot seperately from the ball joint. Just pull it apart and snap on the new bellows type boot. I won't swear to this, just what I have been told.
Glad you got it together.
That damn nut IS tight, ain't it? I hope you stomped on the wrenches putting it back on. That's the only thing holding your wheel on. Reccommaendation is to use a new nut, each time you have to remove it. The Nylock loses its gripping power, going on and off.
Cheers,
George
ps: We're never quite satisfied, are we, especially if we are willing to do the work ourselves?

Yes, that nut is crazy tight. There are a couple items at my work that get torqued to 240 and 300 ft. lbs. There is no way that nut was 205. I think the last person in there went nuts with it. I definitly used the new nut. The old one lost alot of its locking feature. I will check into that boot but im not sure how long I will have the car now. Ive got about 3 weeks to pick up the 200, probably be doing this stuff all over again...so says murphy's law anyway.
