Default Gas mileage 2.3 liter inline 5....

So I just went on a bit of a trip yesterday and found I got 25.56 miles to the gallon! For a luxury car with four wheel drive, thats fantastic! Especially since these were rated at 24 mpg max!

This is in my 1987 Audi 5000cs quattro. I had the cruise set at 64mph half the time and 74mph the other half. Three stops. I think the amazing thing is that the tank is so big. This means I can go just over 530 miles on one tank.

So what is everybody else here getting for gas mileage on their n/a inline 5 cylinders?

and here is the turbo version I just purchased...and stole the leather interior from

Unfortunately no. I was going to just part out the car as I got it for $400 but now its going to my brother. The previous owner was mistaken on the extremety its problems. Turns out that it just had a leaky oil sender and a loose coolant hose. It actually runs better than mine!

wow that's low MPG for a small engine I think a full service is required ( it should do twice that ) or more depending on the lead foot

Really? Its rated at 24mpg highway.

It may be a small engine but this car is practically a boat. What are you getting in yours?

keep in mind that that same 2.8 was used in volkswagens up until a couple years ago. It actually is a fairly powerful engine. That said. You should be getting high teens to very low 20s for gas mileage in it.

Tell ya what....I'll trade you! Lol

I'm looking to upgrade in a couple years to a mid to late 90's audi with a v6 quattro in it.
