Default Rear inner tire wear 89 CQ

I had to get my car inspected today on base, everything passed EXCEPT the rear tires on the inside were bald? The tires are only 2 yrs old.. and look fine every where else. It is just the rear tires. Does it has something to do with the tires, or the AWD, I am kind of stumped. I never had this kind of prob before. Any info would be very apperciated. thanks in advance!

The 89 200QT needs both front and rear alignment.

I suspect your rear bushings are worn out and need replacement.
The outer end of the upper link is probably worn out, but it is best to do all the bushings and get it re-aligned.

is it usually a pretty expensive job to get the bushings replaced? Thanks for the information though!! I am going to get the new tires (so I can pass inspection) and then take her to the audi shop to get some work done on her.

depends upon what you call expensive and what is worn out.
I did a top control arm (used) for less than $50 in less than an hour.
If your wearing out tires on one side I expect thebushing on that side is really bad...

An Audi shp -If you mean dealer - Expect to pay a zillion dollars for any work.

yeah zillion dollars sounds about right... I usually take my car to the audi dealership in the air for minor stuff. We are leaving here in about 5 mths, so I will prob sell the car long before it needs new tires again. I may just not worry about it for now. I can see if I can just get them aligned without replacing all the bushings. If I was going to keep it, I would rebuild just about everything on that car. Finding CQ parts in the junk yards in my area in germany is hard... Actually any audis in junk yards. I see more BMWs and VWs than anything else! Its just the rear tires that are wearing out on the inner most side. Thanks for the info/advice everyone!

you most likely need to repair the rear suspension and have an alignment done.
