Upgrading Audi 5000CS Quattro's Turbo...
And I'd like to ask a few questions to know what I'm looking at here. I just wanna state that I'd like to upgrade to about 20 psi by replacing my original parts with the following:
Turbonetics brand Turbo, Wastegate, and Blow-Off Valve.
I've tried to find out my car's specs but they seem to be less abundant than I'd like. SO if anyone could help answer any of theses questions I'd GREATLY appreciate, and I'm sure my car will to. [sm=smiley2.gif]
1. Can my Engine be able to handle the difference in strain?
(My engine is original but I've had the top half refurbished for maintenance purposes)
2. Can my Crankshaft handle the difference in strain?
3. Can my Transmission handle the difference in strain?
(I've had the Transmission refurbished as well. I have a Manual Transmission by the way)
4. Well since I don't know very much about upgrading cars(thus why I'm asking), if there is anything else thats important to check out or find out about concerning my Turbo upgrade, PLEASE tell me. A completely fried engine or transmission is the not something I'd like to experience. Thanks so much in advance for everyone's input.[sm=smiley20.gif]

I'll try -
You cant *reliably* make 20 psi from a 10vt unless you either A: Go EFI, or B: make heavy modifications to the CIS.
...Being it that you're seemingly unaware about the faults of mechanical fuel injection, I'm going to say making those modifications is likely over your head.
As for your questions, all the parts you listed, bottom end, transmission, etc. are all very strong, and can handle additional power. If you chip it, (QLCC) you will have an incredible jump in performance. That will net you 260bhp?(sorry my memory is poor, been a while) at about 12 psi. Any higher than that, and you need more fuel which the CIS can't provide without modification.
Good Luck

Cool, thanks alot for your responses. I'm almost ready to get the work done and see what the result is. I just have 1 more question if anyone doesnt mind answering: Whats this "vt" Twisted mentioned? Whats it represent? Thanks again guys and girls(can't be biased now can I? ^o^ lol).
10vt is a shortened way of referencing the motor. "vt" stands for "Valve turbo" ie, 10 valve turbo, rather than, say, a 20vt (20 valve turbo)
What turbo are you expecting to use? I'm not even sure if Turbonetics has K26 Hot-sides.
