Audi A4 2013 1.8T; Cylinder 1 misfiring
Dear Friends,
I got an A4 1.8T 2013 model about 5 months back and had to blow a big sum in the garage to finally isolate the issue that the Cylinder 1 is misfiring. We have changed all the spark plugs, serviced the throttle body, checked the induction coils, changed the VVT valve etc. we switched the plugs between the cylinders as well and the issue is still detected on Cylinder 1. We have also checked for any air vacuum leaks, checked the timings, crank-shaft and also changed the cam shaft sensors and the misfiring continues. Once the guy at the garage does a bit of checks on the cylinders, it works fine. But after driving about for a bit, the misfiring returns. it mostly occurs when the car is idle or at a lower RPM. I have also noted that i am getting lesser fuel mileage than before as well. The engine mounts are in place as well. As per the garage person, he says that the only resort left is to change the ECU-Engine Control Unit and reprogram the security systems, which is very expensive. The misfiring is very slight as of now, but then considering my past experience which is not too far behind, the misfiring becomes more frequent and might damage the other components as well. I bought the car by the end of November, and by the end of Jan, I had to take it in for a major servicing as the fan's circuit system had burnt and there was a trail of issues. Thought it would be fine by then and then exactly 2 months from then, its gone back to the garage with me spending another bomb. Cant afford to sell it and pay all the interest on my loan which stands for four years.
Can I have some suggestions regarding this which i can convey to the garage. I am in Dubai right now.
Thanks!
