Default RE: Fuel injectors

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and just purchased an 98 A4 2.8 Quatro with 160K miles on it. The maintenance records are lacking but I know the timing belt was changed at 102K. My question is, is there a replacement schedule with regards to the injectors? How long can they last?

Thanks in advance.

I know that fuel injectors are designed to last way over 100k miles and as long as you do not saturate/overwork those injectors, which is unlikely with a non-turbo car with a 6000rpm rev limit, those injectors are one of the last things to go. My old Subaru Impreza WRX injectors were still good after 160k miles of use and that's with an aftermarket turbo pushing ~1.5 bar of boost.

I purchased a similar car as yours, 1998 Audi A4 2.8L Quattro, and I sent the car to a Audi specialist workshop to get a thorough, worst case scenario damage report. Turns out that the Audi A4 is quite robust and the only problem with the car is the exhaust. It is aftermarket and I wanted stock!

^^ yeah... as long as your not streesing out the injectors with really high fuel pressure i'm sure they'll last a long long time.... i just changed my injectors(upgrade to 370cc and Ko4) but the stock one's had 260,xxx miles on them and still work great!
