Question Replacing the Crank Position Sensor 97 A6

I hope this is the proper place to post this question.

I am working on my, new to me, 97, A6. The problem was engine cutting in and out after warming up. I ran the codes and had a long list mostly firing and fuel codes, and 1 code for Crank Position Sensor. I picked up a new sensor and want to put it in. Where is the Crank Position Sensor located? I have done the internet searches and watched the vidios, but haven't found anything that matches the videos.

I have removed the left front wheel and shaft cover plate and am looking in at the area where the block joins the bell housing. What am I missing?

Thank you. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
