Default Reset chek engine light

How do you reset the check engine light? The dealer preformed recall work on the smog system on my 2002 A4 1.8. About a week later the check engine light came on. I was charged $170 to put it on the computer. It came up with the code 16684 (Random/multipple cylinder misfire. I was told to change the plugs. I change them. Now how do I reset the check engine light? I have 82,000 miles on the car.

Go to Auto Zone and have them clear the code with their VAG tool. They will do it for free. Any big auto parts store can do it but I know that Auto Zone does it for free.

ya autozone can clear it with their scanner. or u can disconnect the negative side of the battery. but that will also reset the radio code so make sure you know the code before you do that
