KNOPF AUTOMOTIVE
How's this for customer service? I take my A6 in for service two weeks before the extended warranty expires. I ask them to look everything over before the warranty runs out and they find nothing. One month later I take the car in for a recall and the "Service Advisor" gives me a long list of major problems, some of which would have been covered under the waranty two weeks earlier. After some yelling and screaming he drops the price of the warranty items by 50%, still much more than the 0 it would have cost two weeks before.
I sent a letter to the "General Manager" of Knopf Automotive the next day. I never received a response.
Audi USA won't do anything about it. They say it's up to the dealer.
I guess repeat business isn't important to some people.

Both your stories are unbelieveable!!
How could some people do that to someone and then have the nerve to say that to your face.
I had a similar problem a few years back when I stored my car at my former mechanics garage. The car was completely locked up, they had the keys and they claimed some one stole the tail lights off the car without to doing any damage to the car. Odd because you had to get into the truck to do that but like I said it wasn't damaged. Ironicly the owners friend had the same car and was looking for tail lights...you do the math. They had the nerve to tell me they had nothing to do with it when it was obvious what they did. I was SOL.
I hate dishonest businesses/people.[sm=icon_flaming.gif]

i love how people are so quick to leave negative remarks about a dealer, but never bother pointing out the good work they do. As for the warranty "free check and fix" audi of america doesn't allow their technicians to fix warranty related issues that the customer does not have listed on the repair order. If you're in for a brake pad light and I notice a differential seal leaking I'm not allowed to touch it. It's pretty aggravating seeing only bad comments, if you don't like it go somewhere else. I'd love to see the responses you'll leave once you bring your new a8l and a6 in for repairs at a mom and pop shop. Your car will be there for months with no progress whatsoever. So take it easy on the techs, we have hard jobs on very sophisticated cars, and yeah there are mistakes made now and then. Thats no reason to overlook the fact that the majority of the work we do is of high quality and efficiency.
People leave negative comments when they aren't satisfied with the way they were treated. When calls and letters are unanswered by management, there is a serious problem with the company. As far as you not being allowed to do work that's not on the work order, every time I went to Knopf they did work that wasn't requested, which didn't matter when it was under warranty but now it does. I don't plan to go to a mom and pop for my service, just an Audi dealer that values it's customers. If you're waiting for someone to mention the good work you do, it won't be noticed working for a company like Knopf.
i don't have an audi, my boss just bought a 05 audi A8L, mostly with my recomendation.. he wanted to go with the 745 1st, but i talked him into buying the A8... after he bought it started having problems with the navigation and something else (armrest or smth) i don't remember... so he would be on the phone yelling and sreaming with the dealership.. i think audi of manhattan ... you know whats the answer he got?... mistakes happen, we can't fix it.. i pay you almost 80K, and you tell me mistakes happen?.. anyways.. thats from a personal experiance, but generally this is the idea about audi alota ppl share.. Audi makes excelent cars, but has horrible service. nothing to compare to mercedes, bmw... even honda.
P.S. im still gonna get an audi
