Default McKenna Audi - Norwalk California

i had a terrific experience with this dealership. right off the 605 fwy north of the 105.

i shopped around all over southern california looking for a 07 RS4. most dealers either didn't have any available (because they didn't get allocations other than what was ordered) or they had "adjusted market value" stickers (markups) on them; most about $5000. i'll pay sticker for a hot and rare car, but never a dime more.

mckenna had 3 to choose from, and were great from the start. my sales guy derick douglas was very low pressure but had all the answers. he would call with new information and was persistent enough to keep me informed and motivated but low key enough not to bother me. they have a wide open airy dealership with a dietrichs coffee stand where i sat and drank an iced coffee while i contemplated my purchase. when i took delivery of the car, he even drove to my home in a courtesy car to pick me up. they had the deal done in less than an hour and there were no surprises. they didn't waste my time, and they didn't charge a markup. brilliant.

i've bought many cars in the past and this was by far the most pleasant experience.

Congrats on your new ride.

VERY VERY SWEET!!!

We do a GTG the last Sunday of every month at the Irvine Spectrum and usually cruise some afterwards.

I know that we would all love to check out your ride and welcome you to the group.

Check our the A4 forum with the AF SoCal GTG thread for details.

Cheers!

as a fair and accurate followup to this thread i started, let me update by saying i am having the exact opposite experience with the Audi service department at McKenna.

i had some issues on my brand new 07 that i took in to get looked at. no problem, every new car may have some issues. so i went in and had them look at my car.

of the two issues, they fixed one. the other wasn't and i didn't notice it till after i took the car, so i needed to take it back. there was also another issue that came about while the car was in service that i posed to the service advisor. he said he would need to discuss this with his manager and he would get back to me. also my paperwork explaining what was done to my car wasn't complete so he would send that to me in the mail. he never got back to me after i waited a week and i never received anything in the mail. called him and left a VM. no response 3 days later. called again, left VM. no response. called his manager a week later who called back to apologize. he assigned me to another service advisor so i could schedule another appointment to come back. while i had a manager on the phone, i posed my unresolved issue to him. he said he needed to research it and would get back to me. haven't heard back two weeks later. i called my new service advisor and left a VM and she called back the following day. i asked her i needed to schedule an appointment when a loaner car would be available. she said she would need to find out and would call me back in 20 minutes. it's been 48 hours.

now here it is, exactly one month since i originally took my car in to get fixed. despite working with three separate people in the service department at this dealer, the one original issue is still broken and the second issue created at the dealer is still unresolved. very very annoying. there is no followup, and no accountability with the Audi service department at McKenna.

i think i've been very patient and have tried to go through the due process of getting this car fixed. i shouldn't have to continually call and call and hunt down my advisor; i never did with my previous cars at other dealers. perhaps i just need to go to another dealer? but will they help with a problem created while the car was with McKenna?

how could the best buying experience be offset by the worst service experience at the same dealership?? it's just a damn shame...

Sorry Tsunami, that sucks. I bought my car at Pacific, who didn't deal well with you at all, but I've also had very good service the one time that I went in. Although, I haven't had any other issues with my car other than normal maintenance. Good luck on your search, and let us know if you find the golden dealership.

Are you heading down to the Lobsterfest/GTG in San Pedro next month?

Cheers!
