Thiefs!!!! Last year Audi paid all dealerships to do a timing belt inspection on my model. I was close to 100,000 miles anyways, so I went for it. They inspected it and said it was cracked, then quoted me $1400 for the repair job. I had a private mechanic do the work for less than half (parts and labor) and the timing belt he took off did not have a single crack in it. I bithed at the rep who took the ticket and he pretty much blew it off saying he's not going to take responsibility for the mechanic's job. Probably all because I didn't get my car from them and have them do all my warranty work? Either way, they have forever lost my business.

 

I am looking for an Audii expert in the area for a pre-purchase inspection. You mentioned that your independent did a good job for you on the timing belt? Can I get some contact information? Thanks, Jon
