RE: How to hook up a MBC
No you cant just hook up a mbc and crank it up. Your car/ecu isnt "smart enough" to compensate with added fuel/timing adjustments to make any extra boost over stock useful. 00+cars/ecu's can get away with it by doing the diode mod because there is a map sensor- and the ecu will compensate. If you just crank the boost up on a 97-99.5 engine it could cause very very very bad things. Like severe detonation. Get a chip.

RE: How to hook up a MBC
after bypassing the n75 with a mbc is it a good idea to plug the 2 prongs on the n75 or leave them open?????

RE: How to hook up a MBC
soooo what i understood from all this, my setup should be...(2000 1.8MFWD)
DV= 710N diode= 4.3v? MBC= bleed/ ball & spring combo? was thinking either http://voodooboost.com/boost_control...doo_IV-HP_MBC/ -or- http://www.joepmbc.com/mbc.html the xz one and not bypassing the N75 for smooth, but strong, accel. also getting a boost gauge and possible A/F... sound pretty solid? |
RE: How to hook up a MBC
that sounds good. you want a bleed type mbc cincytt says they are the best for your car. i have never used this type so i cant say forsure.
