Only during freezing temps, will the amplifier awaken when key approaches car. It'll begin making a remarkable screetching sound that is independent of of volume control or fade/balance. I finally found out where the amp is, and unplugged it with immediate cessation of noise. I'd leave it unplugged for awhile, then it'd be OK (and not b/c the temps got warmer). I ran the unit past the dealership, and he confirmed it was probably an issue with the amp.
I've purchased two used units that were manufactured within a month of each other and of the original's birthdate. BOTH of these replacement units DO NOT have the right channel working.
Other than than the horrible screeching noise when cold, unit performs as expected (including right channel).
I'm completely befuddled.
