Long time reader, first time poster. woo!

So I replaced the battery in my 09 A4 a couple of weeks ago. Car was going into conservation mode - no dome lights were turning on when getting into my car. After a couple of weeks of weak starts, it just decided not to start.

I replaced the battery with a Napa AGM battery. The car has been starting fine, but it is still in conservation mode - no dome lights still when i first get in (but they work find after starting and when stopping). I didn't do the BEM update in the car, so I'm not surprised that it's in save mode.

My question is - will not updating the BEM negatively affect my battery? Or is it just dome lights which will fix itself eventually? This morning, the car felt a bit weak starting, so I'm getting a bit paranoid now. Thanks.
