Default ABS/EPS/Handbrake fault

Hi, Few weeks ago the brake pads light turned on on my Audi A6 2005. I planned to change the pads, but my car was at a security company (I bought a new security system). After I left the company with the new security system the ABS, ESP, handbrake lights turned on with 3-4 beeps. A mechanic at the company told me the new brake pads will resolve these issues.

Every morning when I left my garage I hear these loud beeps, and everytime when I slow down (15km/h) and speed up I hear one short beep.

Today I went to my own mechanic, he changed the brake pads and he told me I need to fix the ABS cube, it's faulty. Who is right? Is it a brake pad issue, or an abs cube error?

The red brake warning in conjunction with the ABS light lead me to believe the module may have gone out. It could be much simpler though, such as an ABS sensor is busted or out of position.

Usually, when it's the brake pads, the brake warning is yellow.

..and what about the esp, handbrake lights? Is it caused by abs module too?

the brake and ABS lights come on when the ABS module goes out, to warn you that the ABS isn't functioning and that braking is impaired. I assume that with the loss of ABS, traction control (ESP) is also degraded or disabled, thus the warning for that as well.

Thank you. Yesterday a mechanic checked the error codes and he told me the abs module is faulty. On monday they try to fix it, I hope it will be cheap.

Module Master has been known to rebuild them at a fair price.

Chapperz the break pad wires are usually part of the ABS sensor "loom" located under the wheel well of the tire in question. The wires run back towards the firewall and go thru it on the inside "corner" of the wheel well. On mine the plug had been ripped off so I had to look a bit to find the wire ends. Had to replace the right side ABS sensor...$40 online. Your model may be different than mine...

Brad...I mean Dr. Yankee, would the ABS module also affect the Airbag warning light? not sure if those two systems are linked at all.
