Default Advice on HID conversion PLEASE? :D

I've got a 2004 A4 1.8T and I really don't like the stock halogen bulbs.. I even tried some of those sylvania zxe xenon bulbs or whatever and they sucked too so I'm thinking about upgrading to HID headlights but Im not really sure where to start. If anybody had some tips on what to look for as far as brands and which kits in general that would be awesome.. thanks!

best place to get hids is ddmtuning. Install is a breeze if u can change your stock bulb you can install the kit. You wont need error eliminators if u install the ballast in the right place. As for color temp its all on how much u want. Stock is 4500k. Anything above that turns blue the higher you go. 6000k is kinda blue 8000k is mostly blue and 10000k is really blue. Keep in mind that higher the kelvin temp you go the more lightout you loose. And if u do order from ddm the 55watt tend to wash out the color so a 8000k 55watt kitt will look kinda like the 6000k 35 watt kit. And if you do the fog lights a 35 watt kit will be suffiencent enough as a 55watt u risk melting your housing.

here are pics of the 8000k 35 watt kit on my car.

Did you purchase the harness or adapter cables when buying it off ddmtuning?
I'm looking into getting the 8k 35 watt as well and I did some searching and couldn't find any definitive answer on whether they were necessary or not. And where did you mount yours, just so I know a good location so i wont require the error eliminators.

i had no error eliminators. I actually just reinstalled a new kit as one of my lights went out and again i didnt ned the error eliminators. If you are doing the headlights get a slim ballast kit. YOu can mount the ballast under the headlight where the stock hid ballast would be. I think there is a diy floating on the internet about a good mounting location for a b6 audi ballast. I would check into that or if u cant find it pm me and ill see if i cna help.

Go with 4500K 35 watt kit. The light is white and you'll see where your going.,

Default your personal preference

go with 4500 or 6k if you want white color if you like a little blue or a lot of blue in the beam go with 8k or 10k as stated before you probably have more visibility with 4500k or 6k but i run 10k on my s4 and i can tell you i see just fine and i like the color more
