My A4 key fob was accidentally put in the washing machine! Now its not working at all, Don't know should I go to the dealer and get the key coded or buy a blank key, is there any easy, cheap way out of this?

IIRC, currently only the dealer is able to program keys for audis and other higher end vehicles
