Default Help! Dipped H7 headlight not working but full beam working????

Hi All,

I have a issue, I have a 2005 Audi a3 2.0tdi 140, I was just driving and my left passenger H7 dipped headlight went out and came up with a fault on the dash, however from the same bulb the full beam is working I have changed the bulb and the problem is the same. The driver side headlight is working fine.

I have had 100w H7 bulbs fitted there was a while but took them off and also i did try a HID kit of the left headlight afew times which worked but fitted it in so that may have blown something.

Any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated

Regards

It's much more likely that the 100W bulbs either melted the harnesses or blew the fuse (did you check the fuse?). HID systems only draw 35w (less than the 55w of a normal halogen bulb). Check your fuse, and if it's OK, you may have blown the low-beam filament in the bulb. Don't ever try and run bulbs that draw that much current. You're asking for a fire.

I have checked the fuse and that's fine. I have changed the bulb but still no luck. What would you advise to check now?
