What are the best speakers to upgrade to?

 

Wow! What a broad question! What kind of car do you have? Do you plan on using an amplifier or running the speakers off your stock radio? Do you have a price range? Are you more interested in SPL or SQ?

 

hmm lol, i have a 2001 Audi 1.8qt price no object, and i dont know the difference between spl and sq. oh and yes i intend on using an amplifier

 

Do you plan to add a sub(s)? This can also make a big difference in which speakers you would want. Do you want sounds quality, or a ton of bass?

 

maybe a sub but deffinatly not too extreme sound quality is deffinatly my priority.

 

Everyone has different preferences, but I'm a little biased towards Harman Kardon, which would include infinity and JBL. I had infinity kappa 5.25s in my previous car and they sounded good. The JBLs have better bass response though. If you want the best of the best go with the JBL GTI componet sets front and rear (6.5" in rear 5.25" in front). You'll have to fork over some dough though. You'd also need a 600x4 watt amp to get there full potential (which I would also recommend the JBL amp). There are plenty more good brands though: Focal, JL, Alpine, etc. My main advice is to make sure you go with componets front and rear. Your front speakers are already componets but your rear aren't. So, you'd have to find a place to mount the rear tweeters. Good luck with your decesion!
