Daytime Running Light Module Shot
I wanted to see if anyone has had an issue with computer modules in their Audi. I have a 2010 A3 and one night (naturally) most of the exterior lights went out. Of course the dash sang lovely songs to me and flashed the yellow warnings to let me know the right dipped headlight, left Xenon light, both fog lights, all turn signals, brake lights and plate lights were out.
My garage guy, who I surprisingly trust, said the module cant be repaired as Audi coats them in a plastic now so its nearly impossible to do a repair on the module itself. The part alone is $499, labor about $300.
Is there such a thing as over engineering?! How could all of this be linked together. Kind of dangerous to have lights the BOOP! no lights. Especially for something this big to go on a 4 year old car.
Suggestions on where to express this to Audi? On a 4 year old car, it seems like a faulty device. Just wanted to see if there were any similar experiences. Thanks!
