i've been poking around in Ipod interfaces for a while and my friend directed me towards the Dice Kit, which he has installed in his BMW. Are they any good? Also, are the any trouble to install yourself? or are there cheaper (and better) alternatives? I have a 2001 A4 if that helps at all.

I have the Harman Kardon Drive + Play kit in my '06 A4, and it is great. Also, since they have been discontinued, they are pretty cheap (I bought mine new for $14.99). The most expensive part is the AUX interface, if you decide to go this route vs. tape adapter / FM modulator. This part will cost you around $90.

 

Just for reference, here are two pictures of my Drive + Play install. As you can see, I placed the screen above the hazard button, and I placed the controller behind the wiper selector; both are extremely convenient. I am using a tape adapter.

I ran the wires down the left side of the center console, under the shifter and into the rear of the glovebox. The system's "brain" is in the glovebox, and that is where I hook up my iPod.

One of my freinds has the Dice in his 1997 a4. I havent heard of any problems with it. its nice cuz you can use the stock radio to change through all of your playlists. Heres a tut on the install
