Hey guys I am in the middle of putting together my audio system and wanted to know about Dynomating my car. I know what it is and how to do it and why you do it, but i wanted to know your opinions on Dynomating my Audi TT..

I have no installed my sub yet so I dont know if it is going to rattle but as you know it is a hatch and has a "visor screen" over the trunk that allowes air into the cabin.

Would this type of car need Dynomating and where would the best places to Dynomat ?\

Also if any TT guys have done this.. how hard is it to remove the panels ?

 

Well, in my A4, I can hardly hear harley's Idling next to me (and my dad has one with pipes), so they Audi's are very VERY well insulated. I would crank your subs and get out of the car, close the doors and windows, and listen for any rattles. Thats where you want to start dynamatting. IMO if you have no rattles you have no need, Audis are a superb sound platform, among the best I have ever worked with.

 

take the plastics out of your trunk and dynamat that, and get a rear dynamat license plate cover. you should be set after that. i have 2 12" jackhammers with a 1200 watt amp. it did the trick.

 

Does anyone know where I can get dynomat the cheapest at becuase I surely can't afford like 200 to do my whole trunk

I have a slight (and I mean *slight*) rattle outside on my bumper, if I push down on it, it stops. I'll probably take a peek under there, see if its something I can fix or wedge. Other than that, my car handles two 12" Boston Acoustics G512-4 subs like nothing I have ever seen stock (Audio wise). The only issue I have now is my beer cooler rattles, haha, I'd love to dynamat that thing.

All I have to say is, the drive in movies kick *** again (and unless you can hear the rattling, don't worry about dynamat)

 

I have 2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch P2 subs with a 1000 watt Kenwood amp and my trunk rattles really bad, its mostly the license place frame and the locking mechanism for the trunk that rattle the most...so when I put my subs in again next spring I'll be sure to put some dynamat in

 

i have always used ruberized truck bed liner in a spray can, apply it to the license plate (back of course) and any other areas that rattle it worked for me.
