Hardwire via Fuse Tap - Dangerous?
After much reading on this site, I have decided to hardwire my Valentine V1 into my 2006 A4 fuse box via a fuse tap. I am a complete newbie when it comes to this stuff, and I would like to know if it is at all dangerous to modify the fusebox with fuse taps (risk of fire, etc)? I would also like to hardwire my Harmon Kardon Drive + Play, but is it advisable to use more than one fuse tap in the fuse box? I will, of course, tap different fuses for the V1 and the D+P.
Lastly, can I tap into any switched power source? From my readings, I have seen many people fusing into #27 (rear window wiper), but on my car, that fuse is marked "towing assembly" -- whatever that means.
Thanks in advance!
