Default Help with installing after factory stereo

Hi folks, im new on this forum!

im having difficulty installing my new kenwood mp3 stereo in my audi A4. i fitted it fine, but get no sound to the rear speakers, only front left and right.

after speaking to a guy in a car shop he advised me to buy an amplifying cable, as the car needs this as it apparently has a subwoofer (yo!). This cable fits fine into my '97 A4 from the car cables to the iso connector, but i get no sound at all in front or back - altho the stereo switches on and appears to play.

what am i doing wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated.

ello i had same thing with my A6, easily sorted aswell, in boot behind R/H/S side panel you will have a fitted sub (some don't) you will see plie of wires going into red jack, what you need to do is find wires from head unit to this jack and find wires that go from jack to door speakers, I soldered jump wires between cables to bridge them and if you get wires right way you sorted.
P.S unplug red jack and don't plug it back in coz you might short sommit, bummer is you will lose built in sub but i got around that by dumping 2x12 inch subs in
if you ever get rid of car and need to chuck it back to how it was all you gotta do is cut and insulate wires you put in and plug jack back in.

RIGHT! WHAT YOU NEED IS -CONNECT 2 ACTIVE CONNECTERS ,THESE PLUG INTO YOU EXISTING PLUGS THEN INTO YOUR KENWOOD! ACTIVE CONNECTERS TRY HALFORDS OR BETTER STILL ANY CAR AUDIO PLACE,THEY WILL KNOW EXACTLY WAT YOU NEED.

if you have a bose system you must read on the side of of you factory cd unit it will tell you what all the wires in the harness mean in order to get power to the rears you must find the common wire and you need to run power from your remote line out from your cd player to it and it will then turn your amp one all gravey after that

yea alll you need to find is the amp turn on wire for the factory amp. if that doesnt work just find the amp unplugg it and run wires from the amp plug up to the radio. Easy deals but if u need to run the wires it is a PITA

the radio in your audi...... IT will be Bose, or audi Symphony something along those lines... it will say it right on the factory equipment.
