I have the auto level bi xenon lights on my b6 ... However I can't get the lights to seal and they keep fogging so I want to replace them .. all of the xenon projector lights I like say they aren't compatible with factory xenon ... So what harness, relays, etc. Do I need to convert the car to halogen connections and use aftermarket bi xenon lights ?

 

They are. I brought some of the led ones that said they wouldn't work but the harness is exactly the same. I think what they mean is you cant use the factory ballasts or bulbs. The autoleveling will give you an error message so just pull the fuse and it'll be fine

None, I think stock its the number 15 5 or 10amp fuse. When I was testing my lights it kept giving me an autoleveling error. Turned off car, connected all the new stuff, pulled fuse, start car and it worked fine.

I went from factory bixenons w/auto level to halogens to led housings with now top of the line ultra performance HID bixenons.

 

How much for the bi-xenons ? I want some eBay special drl projectors and I'm gonna spring for some quality hid bulbs and led turn signals ...

 

I shell out around 500 overall.

250 for the LED headlights, 150 for moromito bixenons from theretrofitsource.com, 150 for 5000k HID capsules and ballasts. Wired the ballasts into the stock harness so its all nice and neat.

The led headlights are a serious pain to remove. Out of the 30+ retrofits over the years these were the hardest to get apart.

 

I did a retrofit on my last car (bugeye wrx) with trs parts ... They are a great company to work with .. ill probably use their hid kit actually ... And yea my first attempt was to get the stock headlight apart and reseal it so it wouldnt leak and the oven didn't make them budge ... Can u post a pic of ur retrofit ?

 

Whatever sealant they used is pretty high temp. In the oven I was melting the plastic housings before sealant was coming free. Didn't want to push it so I warmed them to about 200 degrees then took a heat gun and pain painstakingly had to free them bit by bit.

Used the D2S 2.0 bixenons, huge improvement over the frankly sad stock HID's, put in some rally yellow for halogens highs and up'd the LED's. Now there as bright or brighter then OEM's.

What did you have to do to up the brightness on the LEDs? I have the same headlight assembly on my 2004 A4. I just bought my HID fog lights at HID Kit, HID Conversion Kit, HID Headlight Kit for Cars & Trucks at HIDNation.com

 

Pretty easy, just remove the old and soder new ones in. I actually went to advance auto nad got a strip of the extremebright or something strips and took from them. You can go online almost anywhere and get replacements with a lumen rating equal to OEM ones.
