Unhappy HID light problems... ESP light and dipped bulb??

Hey everyone... So I went and bought the Xentec slim ballast HID's off ebay for my B6 A4 1.8T, heard good things about them but apparently I had a bad set?... Installed them following one of the DIY's and tried them out that night... worked great aside from a slight flicker... Now I'm not too familiar with HID's so maybe that's another issue? Anyways, had them constantly running for at least half an hour. Went home and parked it for the night... Next day (a little chilly for california) I start my car up and go to turn on my headlights and BAM I get a left dipped headlight, my ESP light comes on, and my brake light is blinking at me! Everything stayed on the whole drive to work. So after a long day at work I started it up... now it's just the ESP light but it won't turn off... Andddd I still get the dipped headlight. So it seems I have burnt out the build already. I would of tried to switch out the bulbs with each other but the weather for working on your car outside at an apartment ended quickly for the week. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here??

well first, is ur bulb actually off and not working. The dipped headlight is either a dead bulb or ballast. As for the christmas tree turning on that is due to a lack of ground for the hid ballast. It tends to happen from time to time with aftermarket kits. Easiest way to get around it is to turn the car off for a sec and then turn it back on. the traction light will be on but will turn off once u start to drive. But in order to try to avoid the christmas tree either turn on your lights right after your turn on the car or turn on the lights on ce you are in drive. I noticed that on mine it seems to happen when i turned the lights on while in reverse or right after i reversed so i stoped doing that and havent had the lights lite up since.

Thanks for the insight, I have tried a few times to get the bulb working but still no success and the esp light always stayed lit. I ended up taking the HID bulbs out today cuz of some night driving and put in the old halogens and my esp light turned off shortly after driving, I'll be able to take more time on them tomorrow and saturday to check everything more in depth but I will definitely be keeping all of that in mind the second time around.

Well, I have narrowed it down to the ballast. I guess I should of expected it with my luck on ebay. Switched bulbs and still have the issue. Trying to get ahold of the seller because of the warranty that's on it and I'm not gonna hesitate to bring the hammer down on him if he ignores me either. Pretty frustrating too because they were awesome when they did work. Anyone know any "HID authorized dealers" that would support the Xentec brand? Their installation manual is very vague...
