Install factory Nav on A6 HELP !!!!
I have a 2005 Audi A6 I purchased used and it did not come with factory Nav or sat radio. I already have been told that I can install the XM radio by just plug and play, However I do not want sat Radio I want to install nav. I can find a used unit on ebay for $300 used and it comes with a older Cd. I need to know how exactly to install this unit. Do I need cables or any harnesses because many people tell me different or is it plug and play? Do I need to update my audi MMI because it has not been updated for years ? BTW in the back I have 2 Fakra cables one Green and one Brown and a Optical Loop Cable. PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING FOR MONTHS!!! Thank everyone for your help in advance
Sorry that no one else that has actually done this work has answered yet. I looked at my shop manual it says that it should be pretty much plug and play, however, there is removal instructions for the GPS antenna on the top (may or may not be installed as standard). The MMI looks like it will not need to be updated: stated that MMI and MMI Plus are installed with appropriate software. Sorry couldn't be more help...good luck!
Thank you so much for that information. I bought the part used from a salvage yard do you think I will have to have it have a protection removal or whatever it is called ? Also How do I remove the cpillar trim I been looking at it and searching online I cant figure it out. Thank you so much for helping me, your the best !
