Default OEM Nav in need.

I have a 2000 S4 and my Nav stopped working. Can't even extract the Nav disk out. I checked the fuses in my car and everything seems in order. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Is it a common problem?

Also, for some reason all the red lights are out (each of the 4 doors) and when the doors are open, other than the front driver's door, the the screen show's the driver's door open when it fact it is not. Does anyone know if this another fuse of some kind.

Thanks in advance and hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July.

the nav cd drive has a fuse on the back of it. It might be tricky to get to the fuse.....but it's a start.

see my links to my pix below....for a pix of the back of the unit.

Thanks for your reply Ted. Unfortunately I checked the fuse back their and the fuse looks fine.

Maybe I should just change it just to make sure. You're right about taking the damn thing apart. It was a duzzie.

If that doesn't work, have any other ideas for me?

Thanks again for the reply.

you can try disconnecting all of the connectors behind the drive, wait an hour, reconnect and hope that it resets itself.

If you have a 2000 S4, then you have a C-navi unit...and you are probably out of your factory warranty. Those units are hard to find used...and probably $500+ from the dealer. See also www.navplus.us. There are some links in that site that will route you to a site in germany that sells those CD-drives (probably 250+ Euros).

If you really want Navi that bad, you could install a RNS-E for your B5 (roughly $1000+ for a euro version; $3K for a US version). For your B5, you'll want one from a C5 A6 (will be the closest fit for your faceplate). Again, see www.navplus.us for more details.

I'm out of ideas. Good luck!

this should work:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-...QQcmdZViewItem

should be C-navi too.

You might need to re-VAG your car after install...not sure. See this site for some instructions:
www.nav-plus.com/instructions

Good luck!
