Default Organizing SD Card

I have a 2006 A4 with navigation, and I have a 4G SD card that I want to load with MP3 files converted from CDs previously loaded into iTunes, and I need help. I have tried creating artist specific folders, but the screen only shows the one it chooses and I won't let me access others. I'm over my head and would appreciate any help in how to make this work.

Interesting, it should be as easy as placing all MP3's into the main file for the SD card then making as many folders as you want to divey up the songs. However dont place a folder inside a folder cause then it probably wont work. But if thats what you did and its still doing its crazy thing maybe your not using the correct button to change folders on the radio/nav?

Yeah, you're right. I stumbled upon the answer this morning. Hitting the return button shows the list of files, and you can put files within files. I did not see that anywhere in the manuals, and my dealer was no help either. Thanks.

I can see a list of files now, but it is incomplete. I am using a 4Gig card and even with only half of it filled it, the file list won't show everything that is on there. Any ideas?

Hrrrm is there a limit on the navigation system cause i know that most electronics have limits of what they can read. some digital cameras can only handle around 1-2 gb memory cards. so try and look at the manual and see.

Yes, you are right. I understand that there is a 500 item limit, which I guess did not take into acount the new cards. Is that immutable?

Yea your pretty much in a bind 500 and thats it. Nothing around it. Yet atleast, maybe someone will max a range expander for removable memory but idk its not availible yet.

Thanks for this post... I was trying to figure this out myself. You would think if they went to the trouble of dropping sdram card slots in the dash, they would make the user interface a bit easier to deal with eh?

But you know... the make sweet cars, not computers.
