Hello! First let me start off by saying thanks for reading this. Secondly I am a noob around here. I have been reading for months but just started posting. Third and most importantly let me admit that I while I may be asking for answers that are already out there, I am a bit confused as I seem to be finding conflicting and sometimes outdated information.

I just bought a RNS-E off Ebay for my '08 S4 Avant. It came with the in dash changer (Symphony II?) My first question is about the iPod dock that came with the car. Can I use this with the RNS-E?. I have read that the stock adapter for symphony II does not work with RNS-E. I have also read that it does work.

Secondly, I have read that I would need a different satellite radio receiver. This info was from a thread from 2005 though and I am not sure if it is up to date. It stated that first generation receivers did not work with RNS-E. Since the car was made in 2008 I have to wonder if it has a first generation receiver.
