From reading on other forums i learned that you can go higer. The max that it can take is 4gig, but make sure that it is not SDHC. I bought 2 4g sd on amazon for 8 a piece. They are perfect.

BlackS4: can you confirm the 4GB works in the player? I am going to order two if that is the case. Also, which ones did you get? Transcend seems to be the only non-SDHC cards I can find. Info is appreciated.

FYI - This is not true. They work but the stereo only reads the first 2GB of data on the disk. I just bought two and tested it and my songs stop at the R's. So, looks like we're stuck with 2GB only.

From what I've heard, the 4gB cards will work - but only the first 512 files will be read.

Folders, MP3s, and Playlists all count as files.

I just updated to the newest firmware and this hasn't changed.

4 megabyte * 512 = 2 gigabytes

So unless your songs are over 4MB that wouldn't make sense to go 4GB nonSDHC. Unless your files are long DJ/audio book tracks like 80MB then it would make sense.
