Hey all I have an 97 A4 Quattro and I wanted to know the size of the rear speakers. I can't seem to find the size anywhere. Also how hard is it to replace them.

 

i've got a 1998, and i replaced all the speakers in mine.

all the speakers are a bit of a pain to be honest.

firstly you will need to get the correct mounting brackets as the original speakers have an in-built bracket.

secondly the rear left has a built in amp (for the non bose system anyway), and basically both the rear speakers are fed from this. also you will need to remove the parcel shelf for access!

so you will need to cut the wires at the harness under the parcel shelf. find out which are pos/neg left/right channel and distribute accordingly.

the size of the speakers for the parcel shelf will be 16.5 cm and the bracket you will need is a "Autoleads SAK-1105".

i got all my stuff from www.lowcostcaraudio.co.uk, but i'm in the UK, seemed the cheapest place for the brackets / speakers etc.
