Default To splice or not to splice

Yesterday I installed the Alpine CDA-9885 deck on my '99 A4 and got it working except for the antenna. Instead of buying the Scosche adapter, is it recomended to just splice the cable and solder both ends?

No. Buy the Scosche adaptor at Wal-Mart...

+1 on getting the adapter it is not the easyest thing to solder the antenna wires and your rection for radio usaly sucks afterwards

Don't you need an amplified antenna adapter for that car? If you just solder it's gonna sound like ***.
