Default Stereo Problem Help

Hey Everyone

I'm having a problem with my 2000 Audi A4 stereo since I bought the car I been noticing a problem with the stereo, the FM/AM frequency are not working properly there's always a static noise I get when I tried to listen a specific station. That loud staticky noise goes on for some time before I get to hear something again. People have told me that the car need antenna power booster but there's about 5 different booster with different location on that car so I don't even know where to start & the car doesn't even have an antenna on the back. So if any one had deal with the same problem let me know what to do cause I find myself listening to CD more often than the radio cause of the static noise I get all the time.

Help.

could be that the antenna connection behind the Sym I HU is loose etc. Worth a look. You'll need the special tools to pull the HU out (source: Ebay or www.samstagsales.com).

Also your A4 has a diversity antenna switching system. A series of antenna's built into the rear/side windows etc. There should be a box (size of cigarette pack) behind the C pillar (tough to access without pulling the seats out

See this link for additional background, pix etc.

FYI - I would post your future questions on www.audiworld.com. It's a much better knowledgebase for audi owners.....as it is THE official user forum. Ha!
