Default swapping bose speakers

So I have done some research and have not found a clear answer to my question.

I have a blown bose speaker front, passenger 99 a4. Is it possible to just replace the front speakers with a different brand such as Infinity while still being powered by factory bose amp? I read that it is ok here in this audiworld writeup.

http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?p=2577116

Issues of fitment aside, how do aftermarket speakers sound on the bose amp? I know that the ohms are different and everything as such but how bad/good is the quality?

Thanks

nevermind! i called Bose and they sell replacement speakers for $40 a piece shipped. Can't beat that price with aftermarket speakers, let alone a factory replacement!

ANYONE with a blown Bose speaker needs to call the Bose Automotive service division!
