Default swapping out subwoofer

so i was wondering if i could 'easily' swap out the factory 8" subwoofer from the rear deck of my 2008 A4 for a 10" woofer. i assume i would have to make some new mounting holes but would wiring be 'plug and play' and what would the factory amp be able to handle?

The factory amp isn't going to give you earth shattering bass, you would also have to get a free air sub to work properly. Enlarging the hole you would need tin snips or a good air saw. It isn't going to be easy, elbow grease is a prerequisite.

u could always stick an other 8" sub in there just a better quality sub. Though i dont imagine u would get very much power out of the stock amp.

I am looking at the same thing for my 2012 A6. Does anyone know what size it is? I think 10" but not sure. I asked the dealer..."duh I'm not sure". You know, after they got the sale.
Anyone??

i think its just an 8"
but i ended up just gettin a Sound Ordnance dual 12" bandpass box and amp. it was less than $300 from crutchfield and for the price of a good 8" sub you might as well go bigger

since i have the factory radio and amp, they had to use a line-out converter on the factory amp and the factory sub still works too lol
