Just bought a 2000 S4 and this is my first Audi. Got a smokin deal and the car only has 36K miles. So far so good, love the car. However, I have a couple amps, some speakers and a sub (JL Audio 10W7) and I need a deck w/at least 2 pre-amp outputs. I currently have a the Bose system. I want something that will fill the huge void of taking the Bose deck out. I wouldn't mind an in dash DVD player, but I do not want one that folds out of the head unit. I want something that will look good. Any Suggestions?

Pioneer just came out with something... i forget exactly what is was called or the model number, but the guys up at my shop were trying to sell it to me... its like their older model but instead of having like a 6cd changer in the deck itself... its like 6 dvd's or something crazy like that... touch screen... really nice... for like 1200 bucks... i thought you couldnt beat it... except i dont have money [:@]

 

Well if u want single din radio get the Eclipse Cd5000. 8volt pre outs. amazing radio.... retail $450-550.
If you want to go bit time get the Pioneer-Z1. Double Din indash navigation. Best thing out there. Built in hard drive for MP3s movies or whatever, built in bluetooth for wireless calling. And with the microphone features you can have your music library linked to you voice and can say like DMX and Dmx songs will play and stuff liek that. Deffinatley the best thing out there right now. However you are tlkaing about spending $2500 retail and prolly find it "off a truck" online somewhere for like $1400-1700.

ALPINE! ALPINE! ALPINE! eclipse head units are great, but they break very easily and are now made by JVC so they arent so great anymore. the new Alpines are the best sounding ones yet, they rival the eclipse in sound quality and are a lot eaier on the wallet.

 

please show me some proof that eclipse units are made by JVC.....they're newest entry level model looks like a JVC yes but they are not made by JVC..the 2005 line up of Alpine unites had some problems with the faceplate motors but the rest have been all good.

 

Eclipse's parent company - Fujitsu Ten - is still the owner. They're NOT related to JVC in any way other than both being made in Japan.

 

And by the way ever since Alpine went to Best Buy they became a free lance company. Any1 that wanted to pay alpine could get the blueprints and make the product, just like what happened to polaroid when that dude bought them out and started putting polaroid on everything.
