Question 2003 a6 side mirror - help

Hello my fellow Audi lovers!

I recently purchased an 03' Audi A6 for less than $2000 (I know, thank you). Reason being was there was nothing wrong with the engine, but just A LOT of small defects with the car such as the rear view mirror is gone, side mirror taped on, buttons are missing, etc. etc. I thought this car could be a great car to someone who would just give it a bit of TLC.

My driver's side mirror functions perfectly fine, but, there is this "yellow" tint on it covering about 3/4th's of the way.

My passenger side mirror is just taped on and looks like sh*t. Needs replaced ASAP. But, as I'm searching through the eBay lists, there seems to be mirrors with different types of wiring. Some has 7, some 11 or 12 or whatever, but you get the point. My side mirrors can have the capability of closing in on the car if I turn the button 180 degrees.

The question really:

What's up with this yellowish tint and how many wires would my mirror have?

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

It is probably an anti dimming mirror with the discoloration that you describe. There is a mid year split in 03 so that explains your other wire choices. I'd need your vin to figure out which to price you. But the 2 choices for antidimming are 265.31 or 378.58 but you can use the non dimming one but that one doesn't have the black border around the outside so it won't match the drivers side if that matters to you. Those are 97.17 or 120.04 dollars depending on your vin number/production date.

I believe that yellowish tint is the product in the glass that allows the mirror to dim, done electronically, it delaminates and that's what you get. I've seen much better answers from other forum members but that's the gist of it.
