Default BIRDS!!!

Gotta ask....

Have a new A4 Avant, Dolphin Gray. Birds left droppings on it today. Could not have been on more than an hour, tops, before I washed it. And it seems to have left permanent markings in the clear coat. Can't feel it as if it might have eaten through, but definitely visible like pock marks. Tried polishing them out to no avail.

I have never seen bird droppings do this to paint - especially so quickly! Is this normal? Just the Audi clear coat? Is there a way to restore the finish?

Thanks for any advice.

Holly cow, what did that bird eat!?? I've been hit many times, with no problems.

That's what I would expect.

Only thing I can think of is that Audi might say the paint had not yet "set". But the car was delivered 6 months ago and should be fine by now.

Its sad it is marred this way now. You do need to look for it, but once you see it, you see it all the time. And there are about 6 spots like this.

Might be able to be buffed out, but I don't know. Will check when I next bring it in for service.

That does suck. I had a bird do that to the fender on my mustang (it was a sixty six with the last coat of paint applied in like 85) the paint totally was all cracked on the surface and nothing fixed it. Some of these birds must be eatin something. Never had a prob on the audi though. And I get some nasty droppings on my that stay for weeks sometimes. We have these bugs that dump this goo on the cars, takes an hour to wash it off.
