Extremely rusted over calipers and brakes? (Pictures inside!)
So I just bought my 2002 Audi A4 last week and its time to start upgrades!
The first thing I wanted to do is times and rims. But I didn't know how much that would actually cost. After looking around and seeing that rims I like are going to cost me 2g+. I decided to hold off...for a bit.
The first thing I noticed is that my calipers are extremely rusted. I wanted to paint them red/black. What color would you guys suggest and is it possible with these rusty old calipers?
Pictures!
First off, what part is shown in this picture? The really rusted part...

Secondly, heres 2 pictures of my calipers.

Orig_Rear_Left_Caliper.jpg?t=1311447064
What would you guys say?
Also, my car is a Silver Audi with stock 16 inch rims. What color rims would look nice? Would it look OK if I painted the stock rims? If so, what color?
All your help is much appreciated guys!
Cheers!

if it was me I would save some cash and use those calipers as an excuse to do a brake upgrade. Other wise I wouldnt paint them in there currents state. Im not a big fan of chrome I prefer a clean more stealthy look so with a silver car, black rims would look good and stand out the best. As far as painting your stock rims... you could, if you do I would suggest getting them powder coated instead of painted but I would say instead of wasting the money just save up and get the rims you want because after a short time youll realize that even though your rims are painted you still want new ones because they're just stock rims
