Remove German Plate

Remove German Plate
Hello,
I just bought a 98 A4. The previous owner put one of those German plates on it that matched his real plate. Is there anyway to remove this without damaging the paint. It looks like it is stuck on there with some type of adhesive. I don't believe it is drilled in.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

maybe he used the double faced tape as the fastener. If that is the case, use a hair blow dryer to soften up the adhesive, and gently pull it back. The hot setting is ok. If the blower burns your hands, it is too hot. I used the blow dryer to debadge my car.
