Default Sunroof

I own a 2003 1.8T A4 Quattro. I'm having some trouble with my sunroof. It opens as it should when I turn the switch, but it will not close when I switch it back. After turning the switch a few times it closes half way and ultimately it does close. Anyone experience this problem and have any ideas on how to proceed to fix it?

Fairly common problem. Dirty contacts! You'll need to swing by radio shack and pick up a can of contact-cleaner spray (or, whatever they call it... the guy in the store will know what you're talking about if you use that phrase), pull the switch (never owned a 4, so I don't knwo how complicated it is, but it should be pretty simple), spray it, cycle it around a couple of times, let it dry and put it back.

If THAT doesn't cure it you'll hafta replace the switch.

Yup, sounds like the contacts. If you DO have to replace it, though, remember to go scrounging in the junkyard first. They'll be tons cheaper there and you'll save yourself a lot of money. Just my $.02.

not to steal the topic, but my sunroof doesnt work either, it opens all the way, then if i do anything with the switch to try to close it, it actually blows the fuse. Every time. Is this the same problem with the contacts or is this the actual switch?
