Default Taking off emblems on back of car...

I want to take off the emblems on the back of my car (a4, 1.8t)

what is the best way to do this? how do i remove the glue etc.

i have a 2003 and its silver, so i doubt there would be any paint fading or anything....

thanks, and sorry for the dumb question

Just use some dental floss or fishing line to remove the emblem. To get the residue off, use some litter fluid. You may need to buff the area after all is said and done.

Its fairly easy to do, i just did it on my 99 and it left alot behind that wont come off easy. On newer cars its not as bad. All you need is fishing string, some people use a heat gun, i used a hairdryer to heat it just because a heat gun can get fairly hot and didn't wana mess up the paint. Then get some goo gone or sticker removing compound or even wd-40 works, some sticker removing stuff can strip your paint, so try it in an area not visable first. I did this at my uncles when we fleed from hurricaine frances and he made a scraper out of some plastic like HDPE, high density pollyethelene, .. spelling???
Good luck, it really make the car look better.

sure does... I used a HAIR DRYER to heat them, took them off with some string (should have thought of fishing wire) and took it to a body shop that clued me in to debadging... he buffed and waxed it for free.

not really hard to mess up on, i messed up on mine but it is barely noticable, since my car is older, the age of the sun hitting around the emblem and on the emblem faded and there is still residue left on the car that is hard to get off. Im taking it to a body shop to have them like polish it with some **** they use that will blend everything in, I can't think of what it is. Where are you in florida, im in the not so sunny sunshine capital?
