You can get xenon-look bulbs. Don't get the ricer ones with the japanese lettering on the package. I got some Precision Optics superwhite bulbs for my '98 A4. The stock halogens sucked, and these superwhites do too. They look more xenon like though.

I think you'll sacrifice some light output for the xenon look if you go with aftermarket bulbs. You should get bulbs that are the same wattage, even though they might put out equal or less light. you'd rather have less light than a fire or melted bulbs.

read soem reviews on aftermarket bulbs. Just to name some companies: Precision Optics, Osram, Philips, Silvania, PIAA, and Hella.

You can buy the separate components (housings, ballasts, bulbs) yourself and have real HID for about $1000 if thats closer to your price range. Otherwise do what Boosted suggests and change bulbs.

Depends on where you are located, i know a place where you can have oem xeon's installed for $500, brand new. It's a group effort, one guy is a tech at audi, the other works for a audi body shop, the take undamged xenons from crashed audi's, warranty them and get new one's for the the one's that were cashed, and you get brand new xenons installed for $500, if you located anywhere near norther nj, i'll give u the info where to go. Oh yea, you also get a 1 year warranty. Or you could get the unbroken crashed one's for $300 with no warranty. Bulbs, housing, harness, everything is included.<edited><editID>imouti</editID><editDate>37950.04875</editDate></edited>

I didn't have to do anything extra. All I did was just plugged in the light harness and that's it. I paid something like $600 for the pair. I don't know where I got them but I'm sure you could find an a4 headlamp assembly on the net for cheap. </SPAN>
