02 A6 2.7T smoke - Turbo Failure?
My 02' A6 2.7T smoked badly from both exhaust pipes last week. A local mechanist found some oil in intercooler so he said it was a turbo failure. Is that true? If this is the problem, is it possible for me to DIY?
it may not be the turbo's it is possible a check valve is stuck. I cant remember which valve it is off hand, but if the car doesn't do it all the time i would think twice before replacing the turbos.
moisture gets inside and when the cold weather comes tends to freeze and bind up the valve inside.
I doubt theres a DIY for replacing turbos..... cause the whole motor has to come out. And taking the motor out..... is the easy part.
i have special wrenches i have cut and made for this job..... and i'll never look forward to doing it
I would love to know more about this breather assembly and where it is located because my allroad has the same symptoms every now and then the car will smoke and only during very cold weather. if you can give me links to the part that would be appreciated thanks for the info.
