Default 02 audi a4 vacuum lines

So I recently purchased a 02 audi a4 1.8t. Bought it at an online auction for dirt cheap. It starts and runs good for a few seconds then runs rough. Read that vacuum leak can do this. I have 2 vacuum lines that aren't hooked to anything. Both of them have a wiring harness as well. Looks like they run through the drivers side fender towards the back of the car. Looks like they plug into something near the brake booster and maybe somewhere around the battery but I cannot find anything. They are small vacuum lines. What do these go to? Engine only has 80k on it But has been sitting for about 4 years.

Is your "check engine" light on? Pull the OBD error codes from the computer and it will probably tell you what systems lack vacuum besides the obvious "lean" running condition.

Also, if you could post some pictures of the area where those lines are, we might be able to tell more about it.

Not even sure they connect around the battery area because the lines are long and look like they could go anywhere.

Also what's the replacement interval for the timing belt and water pump? Found service records for the car. The car has 139k on it but according to the service records the engine was replaced at 69k. Doesn't say if timing belt was ever replaced but there has been a few times the vehicle was serviced by dealer but doesn't say what exactly they mean by service. Car has been sitting for about 4 years since last service. I don't plan on keeping this car but I don't want to sell anyone a ticking time bomb.

Also I will try to pull the codes when I get home.

Started the car again and let it run for a few mins. Seemed to run pretty good. No engine light. Only light that is on is the traction control light. Don't think it has had enough time to trip a check engine light. Battery seems to have been dead in the car for a while. Does a vacuum leak usually trip engine light right away?

Only code I pulled was p0303

P0303 is a misfire on the number 3 cylinder. The vacuum leak might not cause the check engine light to come on right away though. It really depends on what is leaking though. The pics you posted above are really small though. I can really tell much detail. Post some larger pics and we'll see what we can figure out.

There is another vacuum line and wiring harness just like it on the same strand of wires.

Also found this not connecting to anything. Weird looking connector. Other end runs down through the radiator fan

Sorry these pictures suck. Idk why they are turning out so blurry. What image upload service do you use.

Also I discovered the timing cover was broken in pieces. Timing belt looks kinda rough so I'm not gonna start it for a while until I can replace it. Hopefully I can find where some of these unplugged wires go to when I get the front end off

I use Postimage.org - free image hosting / image upload for my pics. It's a pay site but it's fairly cheap. I still can't see much in the pics. They're showing up as very small pics. Upon further review, it appears you use it too. Use the "direct link" to post them. It may only show a link but should allow us to click on it to see the full sized picture.

Much better.. I can see.. LOL I think those are the lines to the windshield washer jets. The electrical is probably the connection for the heating element in the washers jets. Put some juice in the washer reservoir and see if it squirts out of the ends. You'll know for sure then. Once you get them connected, the electrical connection has got to be close. I can't tell much about the third picture though.
