Default '02 TT 225 HP - Stalling and Can't Restart Immediately

Good afternoon everyone,

This is my first post and I'm hoping someone can help.

I have a 2002 225HP TT that's developed an interesting problem.

Two weeks ago I drove her approx. 30 miles and parked. When I came out about two hours later, she wouldn't start. It was just cranking but would not turn over. I had AAA bring 2 gal. gas since my gauge doesn't work right thinking it may be out, but that wasn't the case.

I had her brought down to my mechanic (about an 1 hour ride). When they took her off the flatbed she started right up. My guy could not find anything wrong. Apparently, no codes were thrown.

She ran ok from then on until a few days ago when she stalled while idling. The generator/battery indicator flashed and she died. I left the car for about an hour, went back and she started right up.

Yesterday, same thing. Stalled at a light. I let it sit about 15-20 minutes and tried it - nothing. Tried it again after 20 min - nothing. Towed to my mechanic after hours. Went back this morning and she started right up.

I should mention that the car has approx. 63K miles and I just changed the timing belt/water pump and other related parts.

This is very frustrating to say the least.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just checking to see if u have figured out what was wrong with your car. I was thinking maybe you had a fuel pump going bad or high resistance in your battery cable.

Default Problem Solved

Thanks for responding.

It turned out to be the crankcase sensor. My mechanic had to let the car run for several hours until it stalled so he could diagnose.
