hi i have just changed my timing belt a6 1.9 tdi pd AVF engine.i bought all the parts from my local dealer, including a new damper. when i got the carstripped down i found that the damper is not fitted. there are no empty bolt holes, it doesn't look like theres any thing missing . there isn't enough room to fit the damper if i wanted to , never mind the fact there are no holes to bolt it to.i spoke to an audi tech who was amazed it wasn't there and assures me it should be. i am an experienced tech my self and am convinced it never had one from new. has any one come across a pd engine without this damper. thanks for any input on this baffling problem.
